4 Week Class Series
CALL FOR DANCERS + DANCE GROUPS
Do you love our beaches and waterways throughout the Salish Sea? Do you believe the movements we make matter? Do you want to make new movements for the restoration of water health and for the life dependent on our waters?
JOIN US IN A CELEBRATION OF ARTS IN ACTION!
Join Karin Stevens Dance (KSD) on April 14, 2018 for National Water Dance Day. We invite a diverse group of volunteer dancers and movement artists to participate in a movement choir in Carkeek Park. Movers of all disciplines, backgrounds, ages, and levels of experience are encouraged to apply. The performance will be live streamed across the United States.
KSD is a proud member of National Water Dance, an artist-driven collective of dancers and educators confronting critical water issues facing the United States. Stretching from New York to Hawaii and from Alaska to Puerto Rico NWD creates simultaneous, site-specific dance performances with movers of all ages and experience. Created and directed by Dale Andree, National Water Dance believes that our environment is the most pressing issue of this generation and as dancers we are using our bodies to create a community that reaches out for action.
Interested Seattle Dancers and Dance groups who join Karin Stevens Dance (KSD) for the National Water Dance(NWD) event will receive instructions and a video link of a SHARED MOVEMENT PHRASE that was created by NWD from movement submissions created in 2017 by participants from around the nation. Participants can choose to be at either (or all) rehearsals on Saturday March 17, Sunday March 18 & Saturday, March 31, 12-3pm. Final mandatory rehearsal Sunday April 8, 12-3pm.
The NWD Live Streamed Performance Event begins in Carkeek Park at 1pm (PST) on April 14th.
Interested participants please send the following to email@example.com by March 15.
